IBM Deutschland GmbH
In the framework of the MeRegio project IBM Deutschland GmbH is responsible for the integral integration of IT systems and for realising the related business processes. With the E-Energy-Core Platform IBM is developing an architecture based on open mass data-capable and secure infrastructure which can thus react flexibly to new ever-changing business requirements.
Through intelligent structures and processes the CORE approach will decisively assist achievement of the 20/20/20 targets*. The amount of energy efficiency will become foreseeable on the value-added chain and potential in the energy-political triangle (secure supply, efficiency and environmental protection) will become clear.
challenge will lie in providing the various users in their defined market roles with diverse data in specific views. In completing this task IBM will profit from extensive knowledge from numerous global smart energy projects. This industrial competence and these expertise will be supplemented further by the areas of IBM hardware, software and services. With methodical elements of advice, IT and integration know-how and tried and tested procedures IBM will deliver the central element of integration and communication technology in this project.

*20/20/20 targets: In January 2007 the heads of state and government of the European Union undertook to reduce the emissions by 2020 by 20 % or in the case of an international agreement even by 30 %. They further agreed to increase the percentage of renewable energies to 20 % by 2020 and to increase energy efficiency by 20 %.
